God indeed
“for since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that [people] are without excuse.”
Romans 1:20
have you ever been driving home and the sunset’s so gorgeous it just about runs you off the road? it happened to me! i remember feeling like i could see God standing there in the clouds screaming, “I LOVE YOU!” i just wanted to shout it back . . . and i did. of course i got some funny stares from the cars around me as they watched me screaming at the top of my lungs. what’s crazy is that Romans is saying here that that’s exactly what creation is for. God weaved his poem of creation together to be so gorgeous and deliberately created this place we call earth so that no one could ever have an excuse to doubt His existence or His love; so that no one could say “there is no God.” He made all this so that we could know Him and enjoy Him more. think about this the next time you are staring up at the night sky and every star is winking at you, or the rain drops are falling down to water the earth. all creation is shouting the glory of the Lord. can you hear it?
the lights of morning sky / are brightened by Your eyes / and the gloried evening hues / are reflections of Your smile / and this awe-creating view / is just screaming “I love you” / from the depths of my heart / i’m crying back to You / almighty Savior, the invisible wonderful Lover of all men / when you surround me i can’t stand at all / have to fall on my knees and say thank You! / for the life You gave to love someone like me / You are God indeed! / the sands of ocean shore / spread out for miles and miles / and cover dessert planes across the earth / and this awe-creating view / is just screaming “I love you” / from the depths of my heart / i’m crying back to You / and my eyes are drawn to You / You pursue me with Your gaze / how You take my breath away / and my heart belongs to You / You pursue me for the praise / of the sweetest of all names
