Arrest Our Minds

“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.”
Matt 5:8
Can you imagine the weight of this promise?  A promise that if we are pure in heart we will actually SEE God.  There will be a day that we will stand before the Lord and see Him, and there will be moments every day, when we can stand before him and see Him in the beauty He has created.

Honestly, this song was written that men in particular would begin to hope in that promise.  How much counterfeit beauty is out there bombarding us?  How much beauty that has been hijacked and perverted?  How much more would we be truly blessed, (that is happy) if we would forsake all the smoke and mirrors and counterfeits of all the so-called beauty this world offers and have it redefined by the ultimate beauty.

Oh, that the Lord would arrest our minds with that amazing vision of His beauty, and our first love would always have His place in our hearts.

Men, let this be your prayer today as I have made it mine every day.  That our minds would be arrested, reshaped, transformed and renewed for the glory of the beauty of Jesus Christ.

Let the pure in heart be blessed
To see Your beauty Lord
Let it redefine what beauty is for us

And ruin us for less
The smoke and mirrors and counterfeits
That cannot fill the hope they promise

Arrest our minds with a vision of You
Satisfy with a vision of our first love
Let that be enough

Let the pure in heart be blessed
To see Your beauty Lord
Let it redefine what beauty is for us
